Parent Information

We see children’s learning as integrated and interconnected and therefore we value the connections between children, families and communities and the importance of reciprocal relationships and partnerships for learning. We see learning as a social activity and value collaborative learning and community participation. We also focus on connections to the natural world and nurture children’s capacity to understand and respect the natural environment.

We believe that play is an interactional process that is important to children’s learning and provides opportunities to explore socially and culturally relevant experiences.

Our Educators understand that children are active learners and through the natural process of play children will explore, use imagination, as well as engage in decision making and problem solving in order to make sense of their world.  Educators respond to this understanding by providing learning environments and experiences that are inclusive, inviting, responsive, hands on, open ended and meaningful.

We understand that children learn and develop in different ways and at different rates, therefore we provide environments that are responsive to our children’s capabilities in order for all children to experience feelings of success and accomplishment.

We value the image of the child and provide anti-bias environments that promote inclusion and a sense of belonging. We also believe in the power of partnerships with families and child development agencies in our wider communities, such as local primary schools and inclusion support to ensure that all children are supported, respected, feel a sense of belonging and are able to enhance their skills and understandings of the world.

Through positive, respectful attitudes and partnerships with families and our wider communities we are not only advocating for the rights of children but also facilitating children in developing positive and inclusive attitudes towards diversity and difference.
